Welcome to Party Like a Kid! We’re here to celebrate and showcase the best, most creative ideas when it comes to any and all kid’s parties.

What you will see here- lots of DIY, tons of creativity, some stuff that takes a lot of time and ingenuity to make, and some stuff that is so plainly simple it’s magic.  Some of it will cost a little bit of money to tackle, I imagine, and some of it will come together for next to nothing. Hopefully quite a few of the ideas will also be eco-friendly, reusable, and made from recycled materials. It is my goal to have everything sorted and searchable by categories specifying theme, gender, age, and party type. Pictures will be the majority of the content, but I’m hoping to include several tutorials, as well.

Mostly, Party Like a Kid is about fabulous parties that you don’t have to take out a second mortgage for, but will become the stuff fond childhood memories are made of. Party Like a Kid is inspired by the birthday parties of my youth. They were wildly creative and fun, thrown together by my tremendously talented mother who never had much of a budget to work with, but had an unlimited imagination.

Certainly in today’s economic climate many of us are cutting corners, learning to create more ourselves, keeping things simple. I think this change has actually polished the grime off of life a bit, allowed the beautiful, the homemade, the heartfelt to shine through. I’ve seen some wonderful examples of this in pictures of parties others have thrown for their children, and I was inspired to bring them all together in one place.

If you’ve thrown a creative kid’s party (or baby shower), please send us your submissions (pictures are what we want most, and bonus if you can include helpful tutorials, we love links to blogs that showcase ideas) by going here.
